Pennymoor's 1st Caravan 1935 & Bridget, Roger & Helen with their Dad, Richard, in 2019

Pennymoor past and present

Pennymoor has been owned and run by the same family since 1935. Back then, Gladys Blackler (LH Photo standing rhs) had the thoroughly modern idea to turn part of the farmland into a caravan and camping site. Pennymoor has gone from strength to strength modernising and developing whilst maintaining its character and charm that has people arriving as guests and returning regularly as friends.

It is currently in the capable hands of Bridget, Roger and Helen (L-R colour photo standing) who have taken the baton from their late father, Richard Blackler who had taken up the reigns in 1974. (recent picture seated middle  & again seated on the LH of the sepia photo)

The Pennymoor Cafe and Store

Introducing our new café owners for 2024

A quick hello to everyone and to introduce ourselves to you.

I am Alli and my husband is Richie. We are very excited to be taking over the Café & Store at Pennymoor and are looking forward to meeting you all over time.

We will be keeping things much the same as the wonderful Jo & Mike (we have big shoes to fill) and would love your feedback with regards to what you would like to see in your shop and café.

We are serving food from breakfast rolls, sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, quiches, pies, homemade soup and fresh homemade cakes and scones. Here is a rough outline of what’s to come. There will be takeaway evenings, curry nights, fish and chips, pizzas and chilli nights and special occasion nights with much more planned as time goes on.

You can keep an eye on our opening times and what’s happening in the Café on our Facebook page by clicking here: https://www.facebook.com/people/Pennymoor-Cafe-Store/61552007997317/ Please like and follow for our updates.
